Presents Annual Telugu Contest 2009
Dear Members,
We are happy to announce the Telugu competitions for the year 2009. TCA believes that every participant in these competitions is a winner. In order to reach out to more kids throughout the Greater Houston area and also to continue challenging the kids who have already participated in advanced level in the past, we are changing the format from the past.
This year, the contest will be split into two parts. Part A and Part B. Part A is a simple written test that can be administered in multiple places in Houston and at multiple times. This way, we are trying to bring the Telugu contest closer to you. It can also be administered in someone’s house. This will be conducted on various occasions from October 17th until Dec 6th at various locations and dates, the details of these opportunities will be published through email, word of mouth, our web site and where possible on radio etc. Part B is the final which will be conducted at Ashtalakshmi Temple on December 12th at 1PM. Participants must score at least 50% in Part A to qualify for Part B. Winners will be picked based on the performance in Part B only.
TCA - Telugu Competitions for kids & Adults
The competition will take place in 4 Categories (Based on abilities and not age) for children and one category for adults. Instead of Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels, we will now call them Level 1 to Level 4. This allows us to increase the levels in the future and continue the possibility of learning even more Telugu after the Advanced Level for our children.
Please note that last year's TCA Telugu competition winners in any category need to participate at one level higher. Thus someone who participated in Basic level last year, will participate in Level 2 this year and those participated in Advanced Level last year, will participate in Level 4 this year.
Every child participant will go back with at least certificate. TCA wants this competition to be an enjoyable experience for your kids. So encourage your kids to participate. These certificates and prizes definitely add to your child’s portfolio when they apply for Scholarships, particularly those from TCA, TANA, ATA etc.
Please look for details of what is in the test and examples etc. on the TCA Website at teluguhouston.org.
